Stella’s Emergency Plumbing is not like most plumbers out there. First, we’ll stop the immediate water problem, then diagnose and fix the cause. Where we differ is we help with minimizing any water damage that occurred from the issue. This is a very important step because water, if not properly removed/dried from your walls, flooring, and cabinetry, can create an issue with mold growth. Also, in severe losses, we can repair or renovate your home to get you back to normal. In addition, if your loss is from an insurable cause, we have the experience of working with insurance companies.
Active plumbing leaks & floods stopped fast
Call Stella’s Emergency Services at the first sign of any plumbing problem. To stop most water leaks, the local shut-off valves will do the trick, but some leaks may require the home’s shut-off valve or even the valve at your meter to stop the flow of water. If you are unsure or unable to do so let the people at Stella know and we will dispatch a technician to help.
Leak detectionSlab leaks or leaks from behind your walls
– If you think you have a leak in your slab or other location in your home, it is a good idea to call a plumber who is equipped with the right tools and technology. Signs of hidden leaks can be larger than normal water bills, the sound of water in your pipes when the water is turned off, water puddling on the floor, warm spots on your floors, water staining or mold on your walls, and buckling of your flooring or baseboards. Because your plumbing is either behind the walls or under your floors and may travel from where it originated to where you see it, it is not always easy to know where the water is originating from. Professional leak detection is required.
A water meter test will allow us to determine the rate at which water is lost. Slow leaks can continue for some time before you become aware of a problem. Quite often the first clue is the presence of mold. The use of thermal cameras and moisture meters can assist in the location of leaks from behind the walls and cabinetry. For leaks under the slab, acoustic leak detection will be the best way to pinpoint the location of the leak.
The plumbing in your home consists of the piping, pipe connections, shutoff valves, supply lines, plumbing fixtures such as faucets, toilets, water heaters, dishwashers, washing machines, and the drain & sewer lines. All of these elements have the opportunity to fail due to age, corrosion, build-up, blockage, or breakage. Some repairs are simple to address while others are extensive and complex to properly repair. Stella’s Emergency Services will provide an honest assessment of the problem and the options available to you.
Plumbing fixtures, supply lines, and shut-off valves are all common causes of leaks and are relatively easy to fix. If a pipe bursts with the water supply or the connection between the pipes fails, the repair becomes a little more complicated. Your water supply line may either be copper, PEX, CPVC, polybutene, or galvanized steel. Inferior piping can be repaired if it is an isolated issue, but the replacement should be considered if there is a system-wide problem. There are also repairs that can be made for your drain or sewer lines. A video camera inspection will provide a full and complete idea of the problem.
In all cases Stella’s Emergency Services will arrive with a fully stocked vehicle to make your repair as fast as possible.
Clogged or slow-moving drains & sewer lines
Evidence of issues with your drain or sewer lines most often show up with your sinks, showers, bathtubs, and toilets holding water. Evaluating the problem properly, Stella’s Emergency Plumbing will determine if there is a localized drain clog or a more serious blockage in the sewer line. Either way, Stella’s Emergency Services will apply the appropriate service to get the problem resolved.
Depending on the cause, location, and severity of your backup, Stella Emergency Plumbing will approach your drain cleaning by providing snaking the pipe, rooter service, or hydro-jetting the pipes. Video camera inspections can be a useful tool to help identify serious defects that require repair or replacement of the pipes.
Plumbing supply & drain line replacement
In deciding whether to repair or replace the plumbing in your home you must consider the type of plumbing in the home, the age of the home, the extent of the problem as well as the cost associated with the service. Stella’s Emergency Plumbing will provide all the options available to you for your situation including repair and replacement.
If your home was plumbed with older piping that does not meet today’s building codes you may want to consider a whole house or partial water line re-pipe. Drain line replacement also should be done with older pipes such as cast iron. There are different approaches to replacing your sewer lines. One method is to cut into the slab in your home and replace the pipes from above. A less disruptive approach is to tunnel underneath the slab and replace the pipe from below. New technologies now provide an additional approach to solving the problem. Drainpipe relining utilizes your existing pipes adding a strong inner layer. This approach is less expensive and can be done in a matter of days.
Water heater replacement
Like all the appliances in your home, your water heater will fail. It could be a leak or it just stops making the water hot. A leaking water heater needs to be replaced but there may be a repair available if it isn’t heating the water anymore. Considering the unit’s age and condition, a replacement may be in order. Stella’s Emergency Services considers having no hot water an emergency and is here to help with a same-day water heater replacement.
